It’s been a crazy week for weather-related incidents across the country. Not only has Hurricane Harvey left thousands stranded and insurmountable losses for people in the Gulf Coast, but now the West Coast is being threatened by high temperatures that have resulted in fast-spreading brush fires. The largest brush fire in Los Angeles’ history made hundreds of residents flee their Los Angeles, Burbank, and Glendale homes on Saturday through a mandatory or voluntary evacuation. Covering nearly 8 square miles just north of downtown L.A., the fire has burned so far three structures — including two residences. Selena Gomez has taken to Twitter to request her fans offer donations to victims of Hurricane Harvey, via the Greater Houston Community Foundation’s Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. On August 30, after her Instagram page was allegedly hacked by an unnamed person who shared naked photos of her former boyfriend, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez encouraged her fans and followers on Twitter to do a good deed and send money into the organization in hopes of making a difference in her home state. “So devastated about the crisis in my home state of Texas. U.S. State Department Issues Travel Warning For Mexico

The U.S. state department has issued a travel warning to all tourists and government officials travelling to certain areas in Mexico. The travel warning comes after many U.S. citizens have been victim to homicide, kidnapping, carjacking, and robbery in various Mexican states. Major tourist areas, such as Cancun and Baja California, have been listed as particularly dangerous areas where tourists have been cautioned. Cancun has seen several deadly gang shootouts over the past few months, including one in a holiday resort where three taxi drivers died in a nightclub shootout. Witnesses said at least five armed men entered the bar, threatened customers and shot a man in the head in an execution-style killing. He was believed to be the manager or owner.
